Shannon's World

A few weeks ago Shannon's homeowners told her they were putting their La Quinta home on the market...and of course Shannon's Casita along with it. After a little research on possible alternate housing one thing was clear; 2 part-time jobs just weren't going to cut it. A full time job needed to be found.

Shannon's Casita
She had not yet mentioned her dilemma to anyone when lo and behold, her pastor Shawn told her of a job opening he thought she would be perfect for. The interview process began and although she didn't get the original job she applied for, they loved her so much they put together a second job to offer her.

Shannon now works full time in Development at a private K-12 school. The best part? She can continue building the children's ministry at Desert Foursquare Church and she has summers and holiday's off. I'm so very excited for her!

The new position they created is as the executive assistant to the head of marketing and development. Her boss Debbie is the daughter of the school's founder - and with 4 young children at home Debbie is ready to take a step back from the demands of developing a non-profit private school. Shannon's new position does not come with a road map. She and Debbie will be building the job description as they go along. At this point it looks like she will be involved with marketing, fundraising, admissions, and of course their spring auction (hmmmm....for some reason that all sounds sort of familiar to me :))

Check out the school at Desert Christian Academy. They've been around since 1977. The new website is under construction so sometimes links don't quite work but it's still fun to get a feel for where she now spends lots of time!

YOU GO GIRL!
